I love football. It makes time go by so fast, especially school. Just yesterday my roommate said, "I can't believe it's Thursday already." We look at our schedule and look forward to that day off on Wednesday and the workouts make life go by faster. The bad thing about that, is that the season goes by even faster. There's no greater feeling than playing in front of thousands of fans and hearing the bands play. It's a shame that this sport is in season for a mere third of a year. However, that is why we love it so much.
The team is coming together stronger and stronger every week. Our defensive backs coach, Demario Warren, tweeted before a Saturday morning workout, "95% of the team at 9 am Saturday meeting 10 minutes early. Unbelievable how much the culture has changed in 4 years." More and more players are showing up early, and leaving late. A philosophy I learned from a coach in my youth. He told us of a receiver he coached in high school that wound up playing at USC and in the NFL, Keary Colbert. He told us that he was the first player to get to the practice field, and the last player to leave it. Our team is slowly filling up with a bunch of Keary Colbert-type players. It's exciting to watch and I am so blessed to be apart of it.
